Iron Man

Black Sabbath's rockin' 'Iron Man' will be blazing on my iTunes for some time now. Marvel's been on a not-so-hot-streak with their major movie franchises as of late. In fact, Spider-Man 2 four years ago was the last true top-notch (and in my opinion, best) comic book movie from the House of Ideas. The X-Men and Spidey franchises suffered from the dreaded curse of dropping the ball on the third film. Fantastic Four, Punisher, and Ghost Rider all absolutely sucked. Period. Competition from the successful Batman and the good but flawed Superman reboots, and all of a sudden, Marvel wasn't the bigshot it once was. Good thing Ole' Shellhead just happens to be one of the most popular characters in comics right now and he's definitely carried over this hotstreak to kick off the summer blockbusters with a big bang. He adds some much needed credibility back to Marvel's ailing film properties, and hopefully this trend will continue throughout the year with the upcoming Hulk and Punisher projects,...

Snake Eyes!

As long as the G.I. Joe live action flick gets this guy (and Storm Shadow) right, I don't really care what Marlon Wayans does. I'm glad they stayed faithful to his classic look. Pretty sweet, although my only qualm is that Ray Park seems (well, he is) kinda short... But hey, I'm sure he'll be flipping around all over the place too much for that to be noticeable. Cheers!

Lowe Amazing : 60s

Here's a short video chronicling some of the great things I'm going to miss at Lowe. It's been an awesome (almost) 2 years. Thanks to all the people who gave me the opportunity to work at this fine agency. I'll always treasure the memories of brainstorming, outings, parties, pitches, puyats, and people. We're in a small industry, so I'm sure I'll still see you guys around.

Godspeed everyone!

Search for your music (yay!)
2. Copy the url in the search result and paste it to your browser. (Clicking on the links is futile as Multiply will magically make the page 'not found'... bastards!)
3. This brings you not to the album's page, but rather, the user's homepage for some reason. Just look for the songs you're looking for in their music section! (Woohoo!)

Voila! MP3 Search is (sorta)

A LOWELIFE Christmas

• Update: Added some more shots near the end c/o Katrina's cam!

Long overdue pics from our company Christmas party last Dec. 7. Our theme was LOWElifes: the Goons, the Bad, and the Ugly where we had to come as psychotic, deviant, scummy, villainous, trampwhores, basically. Being an ad agency, it was only natural we had a ton of photographists to chronicle the event, so i'll let their pictures tell the story... Just click on the thumbs to view their albums.

The Golden Compass : Meet Your Dæmon

Just watched the Golden Compass and it was fun! I enjoyed it more than Stardust, so best fantasy film of the year for me. Anyway, have you ever wondered what your Dæmon would be if you lived in Lyra's world? Just click here to find out! Anyway, I'm pretty happy with mine... wish it was real though, haha. What do you guys think? You actually have the power to disagree or agree with my choosen Dæmon before it takes it's final form. Try it out, and share yours as well just for fun.
Revoltech : Danboard

**UPDATE**
Now with uber-sweet gestalt Danboard images! I'd like to see him take on Devastator... Although poor Danboard might be vulnerable to water since he's made of... um, cardboard. haha. Thanks for the heads up Jay!

I'm loving the new Revoltech lines. Then I came across possibly the cutest "mech" ever, this little dude named Danboard. In all honesty, I don't watch much anime and have no idea who the heck he is or this Yotsuba thing. I just fell in love with the design of this little cardboard wonder. New avatar, coming up!

Here's what I got about it from the net.

From the popular "Yotsuba&!" manga, Danboard (derived from the Japanese word "danboru," which means "cardboard") is a robot costume made out of cardboard in which Miura suits up and moves when coins are inserted into the slot on the left side of the chest. This Revoltech release of Danboard measures 13cm tall, articulated in at least the neck, shoulders, and legs, and Danboard's eyes light up (a test bu...

A Clockwork Joke

My company Christmas party is coming up, and our theme is 'Lowelifes' where we must come as scummy, villaineous, candy-stealing dirtbags. I'm thinking the atmosphere is going to be something along the lines of the sleazy Mos Eisley cantina in Star Wars.

Anyway, I'm torn between two costumes to wear during the event: I'd like to go as Alex from Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange because of his simple and cool look... but I dunno, I just feel like a lot of dudes might dress up as him for some reason.

The other get-up I have in mind is Heath Ledger's Joker from next year's Batman: The Dark Night, simply cuz' he looks like a kickass maniacal-homicidal clown... but I'm afraid the makeup might be a hindrance to enjoying the party the whole night...

I'm not a cosplay kinda guy, but I'm really digging the theme and I think it's going to be a lot of fun this year (the cash prize for best in costume wouldn't hurt my bleeding wallet too btw, hehe).
Beowulf : IMAX® 3D

First things first... Beowulf on IMAX® 3-D is incredible. Amazing. Best 400 bucks I've spent on a movie. I watched it with my girlfriend last Friday on a regular cinema, and in IMAX with my family and friends on Sunday, and the difference is HUGE. I enjoyed the movie immenseley more on the large screen with full-length 3D effects. Complain about the story's unfaithfullness to the poem, one and a half-dimensional characters, and whatnot, but damnit, I've never been more immersed in a movie quite like this. Trusted, not because of the story but by eye-popping 3D, I didn't bother enough to nitpick the movie's lack of 300-like epicness. I was too busy trying to dodge arrows, axes, and severed heads to care. And no, I didn't read the poem in high school or watched the live-action Gerard Butler version a couple years ago, so I watched the flick with a pretty clean slate sans expectations and comparisons. Yay!

Lazy Sunday Movies

Sunday rolled around and I basically sulked in front of the telly the whole day. I woke up groggily but a charming movie kept me up while channel surfing, 'Little Manhattan' on Star Movies. It was about young love in the Big Apple. Small fry kid falls for his karate-mate crush and expresses his love through the cutest of things like a stroll in Central Park, holding hands, and stolen kisses. It was wonderful seeing how a 10 and 11 year old can have something beautiful and so seemingly mature as love.
Film Rating:

Hours wasted on watching pool later, and I was in for a treat as I caught 3 freakin' movies on TV before I slept. First, I re-watched 'Star Wars : A New Hope' on Star Movies and it's still more awesome than any of the prequels despite the dated effects. Harrison Ford out-acted the whole Episode 1-3 cast by himself. I noticed some of the changes they made on the special edition that I got from a site, such as:

Han speaks to a fully CGI-Jabba the Hutt and not some lame fat guy (...

A Weekend of Mutts and Pool

Ok, this is my first attempt at a journal-ly blog entry in quite a while, but hey, I felt the muse of Bryce Dallas Howard compel me to write, and who knows? If it hits off, I might write more about my existence. Any how... some celebrations and sport rants and raves for ya', so don't turn that dial.

It was a slow weekend, nothing spectacular, but sometimes simple is just the way I like it. We celebrated Bono's 1st birthday last Saturday. It's been a great year of wiping pee, scooping up poo, and material destruction, but in between were some fond memories of quiet walks, tug-o-wars, and 'love-love moments' (petting seems like an inappropriate word) so it's all good. Junnis and her little sis Mayumi came over to celebrate and spoil our doggie with steak bones, a walk in the park, and mango ice cream! We even have a hilarious Jackass-esque video of Bono taking a ride on a grocery cart. Gotta upload thos pics and vid in the near future. This recycled photo of our beloved golden ret. will...

The Amazing Revolving Woman

If you see this picture moving CLOCKWISE, that means you're using the RIGHT PART of your brain more; that which governs intuitive, holistic, and random processes and is more visual and creative. You see the whole picture first then focus on the details after.

If you see the woman rotating COUNTER-CLOCKWISE, that means you're more LEFT-BRAINED: logical, analytical, and sequential. You tend to see the details first, then put them together to form a bigger picture.

By default, the first time I saw it was clockwise, which makes sense since I think I really am more right-brained. I honestly couldn't see it counter-clockwise and thought there was a trick to it, a counter and clockwise loop meant to decieve. But after opening the file on Apple Preview and analyzing the frame-by-frame, I can tell you it's all legit. It really is how you choose to see it. I concentrated hard to get a 'feel' for the counter-clockwise flow by focusing on her legs, and egad... I finally saw it! Alas, I tend to...
