A wonderful little children's story that Nic shared to me a while back. From 'The Giving Tree' illustrator Shel Silverstein comes this whimsical tale of a piece looking to find where it 'fits'. Adults can appreciate the subtle analogies to relationships and finding one's inner self.

It came up short of my expectations, because silly me, I expected it to be a novel. LOL.

But otherwise, I loved it. I'm still rooting for the big O and the missing piece to get it on, though.

goodness woman, you really want to read an entire novel online / on your computer screen?

oh, and 'get it on'? wasn't i already clear that the 'big O' didn't stand for orgasm! nyahahaha

ay shet, spoiler.

ah oo nga no. ang lalim nun ah. haha, that's what i like about it - you can just treat it as a simple story or find deeper meanings and ideas in it.

ok lang na may spoiler no! it's not like they're going to make a major motion picture out of it. hahaha

my big sister cried when he (uncle shelby) died. until now i really don't get it why people do so. i mean crying over dead strangers. same for mom being sad the day pauline kael died. i have a family of weirdos and should be used to it by now.
ryderaquino wrote on Nov 13, '07
what? he's DEAD?! sob sob

don't we all feel our families are weirdos?

hi! first i didnt visit your site to read about the missing piece. i was just intruiged because of your last name that is same as mine and was just wondering if we are from the same family tree. well i read the story anyway and as expected of Shel Silverstain's work i was deeply moved and touched. it was very surprising that out of what i thought to be a very simple story has such a deep impact for kids of all ages. a very good reflection from the stoy fits for everyone... that sometimes we keep on looking for some piece that is already within us. very tender story that i iwll never get tired of reading and retelling till i get old... -ave aquino,20

growing up means becoming complete yourself. if god has a space for a missing piece, then he can't be god. god would have an emptiness to be filled up..
