 | WHAT 70's SHOW?!?! topher grace looks like he could KILL Tad Hamilton now (for those who saw the movie which starred him and Kate Bosworth). |
 | these are so cool! i didn't know this guy was starring in the movie! eh malamya lagi mga roles nya diba? haha! astig ;) |
 | dz iz exciting..kelan dw b toh ilalabas dz year or next yr pa? |
 | There aren't enough words to express how FREAKING COOL THIS IS!!! I can't wait to watch!!! |
 | When they first cast Grace as Venom, I was shocked. But then again, Raimi has terrific casting taste: Alfred Molina was perfect as Doc Ock, he made the character all the more tragic by giving him a very admirable personality. Back in the 90's, we were all sure that if a Spidey movie got made, they'd get a Schwarzeneger type person to play Venom....the choice of Topher Grace came out of NOWHERE. But I actually liked the casting of Grace because 1) we didn't know what to expect; it wasn't what we usually expected him to play. 2) It would be a challenge to bring Venom to the screen without making him look silly.
Obviously, Grace was a perfect casting choice, just like Molina. He really looks like he could tear Peter Parker apart! He's like the comic-book version come to life! This is so cool!!!! |
 | nice snatch bro! can't wait for this movie!! |

This is so cool!!!! yeah i think he's a good choice for venom. me and my brother are always at ends when someone is cast... he'd go, why don't they just cast someone who looks like the comic character instead of adding all these prosthetics and computer enhancements? gerard butler as king leonidas in 300, michael clarke duncan as kingpin in daredevil, and vinnie jones as juggernaut in x-men come to mind. but i always argue back that, in a superhero movie, it's more important that the actor 'fits' and can pull off the role, not just 'look' like the character. sometimes, you get both, like with brandon routh as supes or spidey himself, played by tobey maguire. at the end of the day, if the actor is THAT good, he will BE the character and make you forget he doesn't look exactly like the character.
in other words, i totally agree with you that they SHOULDN'T have cast a dumb body builder as eddie brock, aka VENOM. hahaha. i bet when topher's venom appears in all his fearsome glory on screen, all the doubters will cower in fear.=) |

funny how actors from superhero movies tend to work together. jackman vs bale = wolverine vs batman in the prestige anyone? |
 | Oh my F God. This is soooo cooool! I wasnt planning on actually visitng your site when I read about it in fluxxethursday's page. But oh man am I happy! That venom macquette thing is super. When will they release this again? |
 | Some random thought crossed my mind. Why is it that save for Kirsten Dunst, Spiderman movies are swamped with actors who usually play nerdy, loser-ish roles. I wonder if this says something about us. Oh well. |
 | thanks man! the movie comes out may 4 this year. the macquette i have no idea. i actually think it's a model they made for the movie to guide the prosthetics team! would be cool if they actually sold it as movie merch though. |
 | first time i saw that franco guy, he was playing this dork. the role was stupid. and it stuck on me. he'll forever be that stupid guy trying to stop this genetic mutation thing no matter how many times he can expose his body na. hehe |
 | jacquespal wrote on Mar 13, '07, edited on Mar 13, '07 may4 may4! if they sold that macquette thing man, wed all buy it and probably wear it come november. all dorks we would be. not the past james franco kind of dork, sad to say. |

LOTR, Star Wars, X-Men, Batman Begins, Superman Returns, Sin City, and most recently 300 (which ROCKED) are being appreciated by casual fans, non-fans, and comic geeks alike. I have high hopes for Spidey 3... I hope it becomes the absolute best freaking comic movie of all time. |
 | I agree! Kate's character would say, "Tad who?" =) awesome pix man! saw these on the net but they were pulled out so fast, my head spun! hehe. thanks for posting em. you probably can't relate cuz you're a guy but man! Topher sure grew some major muscles! hahaha |

Topher sure grew some major muscles! hahaha thanks! i shared 'em here for the exact same reason you posted above, they were being pulled out left and right, but i bet Sony has no power over Multiply. oh and yeah, he grew some major muscles, but i don't relate to it the way you do. hahaha. more of a, cool, venom is gunna at least be 'big'... not muscle-head big, but big enough to pose a legit threat to Spidey...
... as evidenced by the new pics where Venom is choking old webhead!
you gals get topher, tobey, and james while us guys get kirsten and bryce (dallas-howard, who plays gwen stacy)... seems like a fair deal to me and a good time had by all! |

 | mistykgc wrote on Mar 14, '07, edited on Mar 14, '07 speaking of james (or harry), have ya seen the latest 8-minute trailer? i'm not sure if it was released by sony or just made by fans though. isn't his new get up cool? i mean, the clip was kinda dark so i really couldn't see it that well but the way his mask opens up to reveal his face... classic! they should've done that with the green goblin cuz twas a pity how Willem Dafoe's face was covered up the whole time he played the infamous villain. now I really can't wait!!! in case you haven't seen it yet (which I highly doubt... hehe) here's the link: http://www.topmovieblog.com/2007/03/spiderman-3-preview-new-trailer/ |

totally agree with green goblin 1... poor willem dafoe wasn't able to let out his great facial expressions as goblin because his costume sucked ass. even the 'mesh' where you could see his mouth and the 'peekaboo, you can see my eyes now' lenses were lame. if i recall, there was this concept art with goblin's costume design that wasn't approved by Sony because it was 'too complicated and expensive to CGI'... it was great though, lots of detail, horrific, and most importantly, had an organic mask i think. harry's goblin 2 look is a step in the right direction though, not goblin-ish at all except for the color... just straightforward, functional, and damn cool. |
 | i don't think it spoils the whole spidey 3 experience (at least not that much... *evil grin*) seriously, it just shows details of the storyline that the movie's producers have released. nothing new. although, you may wanna skip the last part (about 40 seconds before the end of the clip) cuz something major happens to harry! ok, ok, i won't say any more. hehehe. check it out, you've got nothing to lose. i gotta warn ya though, it's bound to whet your appetite for the real thing... Spidey 3 rocks! |
 | btw, have ya seen the latest spidey wallpapers that were recently posted on the official site? bryce dallas looks really lovely in some of her solo shots. more eye candy for you guys, i say. =) as for me, i'm now torn between tobey and topher!!! hahaha |
 | nope, didn't know they updated! thanks for the heads up! tobey, topher... they're no match for the hotness of uh, j.k. simmons (JJJ). haha=) |
 | toinkz! hahaha. no probz. bryce dallas really fits the part of gwen stacy -- aptly described as the penultimate buxom blonde by most bloggers. unfortunately, i'm still not over topher's (new) muscles! oh my! hahaha. |
 | one more thing... i noticed that quite a number of fans have been complaining that Sony has bombarded us with too much pix, trailers, and footage -- to the point that they're almost giving away the whole story. i kinda agree, but heck, i don't really care! give me more of topher and tobey!!! hehehe |

 | Marvel rules because they do that...the duality of man, etc etc... :p I loooove eeeet! |
 | you know what i find amusing? the fact that stan lee makes a cameo appearance on every film based on his marvel creations! go stan lee! hehehe |
 | i'm just happy he's still alive and active! the guy is sooo old, but still young at heart=) |
 | Peter Parker? Or Peter Petrelli? I assume you know the latter. |
 | All this time I though episode 18 was the season ender. No wonder it was so bitin eh? Im holding off on 24 right now. |
