The summer blockbuster season is coming to a close, but I think there are still some entertaining movies left this year. So before the Dark Knight, Iron Man, Hulk, and Wall-E hit us next year, here's my personal list of movies to look forward to in 2007 and why:  The InvasionWhy I'm Hyped: Nicole Kidman. Like a fine wine, age seems to have made her even more beautiful. Plus, that Academy Award on her shelf speaks volumes about her acting prowess.  See what I mean? Simply stunning. I love how this movie will rely on old-school atmospheric shocks rather than flashy CGI.  DescentWhy I'm Hyped: I don't know much about this movie other than early hype tauts it as Rosario Dawson's 'career defining' performance. I've always been a fan of her, and I'm looking forward to seeing her break out into the upper echelon of Hollywood.  Across the UniverseWhy I'm Hyped: Evan Rachel Wood is charmingly pretty. Plus, Bono is in it. Should be quite the trip...  Balls of FuryWhy I'm Hyped: Extreme Ping Pong. What more could you ask for? Oh, how about some Christopher Walken and...  Maggie Q?  HitmanWhy I'm Hyped: I just want Hollywood to make a video game movie done right. Resident Evil's been successful, but if this and the upcoming Bruckheimer 'Prince of Persia' are good, it could open new doors for video game flicks. Btw, Agent 47 will be played by Timothy Olyphant, the main villain from Die Hard 4.0.  Good Luck ChuckWhy I'm Hyped: I don't know much about this movie other than it's about some dude's voodoo curse. But seeing Jessica Alba with a sheepish grin and holding a cone with melting ice cream has me sold. Yeah, call me shallow. At least I'm honest...^_^  Resident Evil ExtinctionWhy I'm Hyped: Are you noticing a trend? Kidman, Dawson, Alba... now Jovovich? Yeah, I'm a red-blooded male, and damnit, I enjoy gorgeous Hollywood women on my screen. Especially when they kick ass like Milla here. I know the story will suck, but I can't resist those absolutely gorgeous eyes...  Bee MovieWhy I'm Hyped: I know, I know. Pixar rules all. 'Ratatouille' will be the best animated film of the year. But I was surprised by 'Over the Hedge' before, and we all love 'Shrek', so I'm willing to give this a shot.  Sweeney ToddWhy I'm Hyped: Johnny Depp. Need I say more? How about Alan Rickman, Helena Bonham-Carter, Sacha Baron-Cohen, and Tim Burton? That's Jack Sparrow/Edward Scissorhands, Severus Snape, Bellatrix Lestrange, and freakin' Borat in one movie. Let the dark comedy craziness begin!  The Golden CompassWhy I'm Hyped: Wait, weren't Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig in 'The Invasion' too? That's cool in my book. More Nicole means more goodness for me. It's another children's fantasy in the mold of 'Potter' and 'Narnia', but the cast looks terrific (I heart Eva Green too). Plus, that polar bear busting through the scene was just cool.  Ok, I know! Enough Nicole Kidman! So, there you have it. By all means, share what you think looks interesting or if I've missed any other worthy flicks in your opinion. I couldn't find a poster for Michael Gondry and Jack Black's new movie 'Be Kind Rewind', so I might update this in a future date. Enjoy the movie posters below... Cheers!

 | oh i didn't know vin was considered for the role. he seems kinda 'too buff' to be agent 47. plus, he already played a super-spy in xXx. i thought jason statham could've been a good fit, but let's see what this olyphant guy does with the role.
golden compass looks good. stellar cast. great eye candy. don't know about the book, but i'll surely check the flick out...^_^ |

 | looking forward to the Invasion (a new take on The invasion of the body snatchers), Sweeney Todd and Golden COmpass myself. Descent is a pretty good film, noted for its shockingly real portayal of good girls gone bad (go Rosario!) . can't wait! |

 | i am most excited about "Sweeny Todd" but I think "Across the Universe" would be so phenomenal. its trailer is being aired on tv and gawd, that movie looks sooooo amazing. can't wait till sept 28. |
| yup yup! the summer may have been the season where all the eye candy and popcorn flicks are shown, but the remaining movies this year seem more of the offbeat and high-quality movies...XD |

| well, i was hyped about it before but it's gotten a lukewarm response from critics and some friends who have seen an advanced screening! sayang! but i guess we'll have to see for ourselves...^_^ |
 | UUUNNNNGHH. I'm also looking forward to Descent, Sweeney Todd (I love Helena Bonham Carter!!!), and, most definitely, Hitman. Golden Compass (because of the book, not because of Nicole Kidman! I think. Uhm) is probably on the top of my list as this is one of my favorite written works.
Not to keen on RE: Extinction... I mean, Mila is awesome but... the lack of Jill Valentine in the last movie made me scowl for days. Jill is my favorite character and she doesn't get cool enough fight scenes! Buuuut... I am looking forward to Redfield's appearance in Extinction, and that may be the only reason lI'l watch it.

| argh! so far invasion was mediocre, and reviews of 'balls of fury' were even worse. ah well. let's hope the other's won't be letdowns. RE: Extinction has Ali Larter (Niki Sanders) from Heroes! dunno if she's good or evil, but i hope she has a cool role. jill got criminally robbed in screentime last time, too bad cuz' she was hot, haha. |
 | I must agree that "The Invasion" was surprisingly good. Nicole K has really moved forward as an actress post-Tom Cruise.

| haha, well it's a personal list. i'm always skeptical with fantasy flicks these days. and i can't feel claire danes being in the genre as some princess or whatever she is. golden compass is here cuz of nicole too. hahaha. but let's see. i'll definitely catch it and hopefully it will surprise me and be really good...^_^ |
