Blog EntryA Weekend of Mutts and PoolNov 11, '07 8:47 PM
for everyone
Ok, this is my first attempt at a journal-ly blog entry in quite a while, but hey, I felt the muse of Bryce Dallas Howard compel me to write, and who knows? If it hits off, I might write more about my existence. Any how... some celebrations and sport rants and raves for ya', so don't turn that dial.

It was a slow weekend, nothing spectacular, but sometimes simple is just the way I like it. We celebrated Bono's 1st birthday last Saturday. It's been a great year of wiping pee,  scooping up poo, and material destruction, but in between were some fond memories of quiet walks, tug-o-wars, and 'love-love moments' (petting seems like an inappropriate word) so it's all good. Junnis and her little sis Mayumi came over to celebrate and spoil our doggie with steak bones, a walk in the park, and mango ice cream! We even have a hilarious Jackass-esque video of Bono taking a ride on a grocery cart. Gotta upload thos pics and vid in the near future. This recycled photo of our beloved golden ret. will do for now. Anyway, happy birthday you big mutt!

In the afternoon, I shacked up at my bro's hotel to catch the World Pool Championship. Basically, it was 5 long hours of disappointment, but hey, that's what you get in sports. Roberto Gomez choked under pressure with a 15-12 lead to lose it to the mentally tough Daryl Peach 15-17. Thems the breaks I guess. At least it was entertaining to see uber-hot referee Michaela Tabb constantly reprimand the rambunctious Filipino crowd. Caught dinner at Yoo-hoo for some very healthy liempo afterwards and headed back home. Useless thing I noticed: Ralf Suquet and Daryl Peach, the two foes Filipinos have faced in the last two World Pool Finals, are both baldies!
