Because I have a monster crush on
Ellen Page (she played Kitty Pryde a.k.a. Shadowcat in
X3), who looks to have a breakout performance here, and
Michael Cera, who was comic gold in
Superbad. J.K. Simmons is also a guaranteed scene stealer if his J. Jonah Jameson in the
Spidey franchise is any indication. It's pretty much a teen-version of 'Knocked Up' which looks surprisingly more serious and mature with a lot of heart to spare. Anyway, I really hope this semi-indie gem is gunna show here in the Philippines. If not, there's always Quiapo!
Plot Summary: "Juno" stars Ellen Page as the title character, a whip-smart teen confronting an unplanned pregnancy by her classmate Bleeker (Cera). With the help of her hot best friend Leah (Thirlby), Juno finds her unborn child a "perfect" set of parents: an affluent suburban couple, Mark and Vanessa (Bateman and Garner), longing to adopt. Luckily, Juno has the total support of her parents (Simmons and Janney) as she faces some tough decisions, flirts with adulthood and ultimately figures out where she belongs.
